Opening Minds Through Art (OMA)

  • Swampscott Senior Center 200R Essex Street Swampscott, MA, 01907 United States (map)

Opening Minds through Art (OMA) is an award-winning, evidence-based, intergenerational art-making program for people living with dementia.

People living with dementia (artists) are paired with volunteer (we have high school students) who are trained to rely on imagination instead of memory and focus on remaining strengths instead of lost skills. OMA enables people living with dementia to assume new roles as artists and teachers and leave a legacy of beautiful artwork.

FREE. We are offering three 6-week sessions through summer of 2024. Generously funded by Greater Lynn Senior Services and the Mass Executive Office of Elder Affairs.

Space is limited. To reserve a space please call the Swampscott Senior Center 781-596-8866 or email Outreach Social Worker Sabrina Clopton at sclopton@swampscottma.gov
