Artists from many periods (especially from the Renaissance onward) have been drawn to depicting water, harbors, storms, calm seas, and boats. Boats as a subject allow artists to explore light, color, movement, reflections, the sky, and dramatic natural phenomena. We will look at some blockbuster artworks, hear some fun facts, and share our own boating stories together.
